Grant’s Getaways: Visiting the SAGE Center

Grant McOmie – KGW

I am a big believer that the health of a community can be measured by the way they share their wealth with the rest of us.

Eastern Oregon’s Morrow County certainly does that – their ag products include cantaloupe, wheat, potatoes, onions, milk, corn and the list goes on and on – little wonder that the world is waiting with open arms.

Morrow County has been called “The Breadbasket of the State” for the abundant and varied food that is grown, processed and shipped around the world.

In the wide open country near Boardman, a new silo-framed show-stopper catches your eye and invites you inside the SAGE Center – for Sustainable Agriculture and Energy and it is one of the most intriguing and impressive story-telling sites in Oregon.
